Last weeks collection of Inktober sketches. Not much to report except that the second chapter is officially underway. Of course I don’t have the first page done but the process has been started. There are about 8 more weeks of Chapter 1 left so I think thats a pretty good buffer for now. I’m excited to start sharing more details. But I do not wish to let that cat out of the bag just yet. Thanks again for following along!
New page up at DD5! Here are the latest entries into my half marathon of Inktober. Its been fun using Inktober as an excuse to play around in the world of Deep Dive Five. Doing my best to stay on schedule as I can. About 1/3 done. The other big news is that I will be starting production on the second story this week. As it stands right now its looking to be 3 chapters at about 24 to 25 pages each. Thats rough as only the first 25 are absolutely mapped out. But the story outlines are leaning to about 75 pages. I will definitely post teasers when I can and they are appropriate. Thanks everyone for reading along! Now to some inky stuff…
So I’ve taken the plunge and decided to do a half marathon of Inktober. I’ve wanted to attempt this for a while but was never sure I could stay disciplined enough to make it happen. Not much has changed this year except I’m tired of hiding behind that excuse. Anyway I’ll be posting them on my Instagram account and here on my blog. I’ll be using Deep Dive Five as my theme and just remember these are fun and have no bearing on our current story or canon. Just some exploration that might play into future stories or ideas. Thanks everyone for following along!
So this week’s page went back under the knife. I knew when I was drawing the original I was skipping out on a bit of character design by just having Station 3 and the chief and a bunch of dialogue. You were never sure who the Chief was speaking with but you knew when the chief spoke. Later in the story I was forced to do a little character work and I was able to apply it here. The Bear shows up in one more panel just as this chapter is wrapping up. I spent a little time last week restructuring the top portion of the page by shrinking the main panel to a little over half a page. Its nice to have a little extra time with this presentation and the added panels do create a larger sense of urgency than just the dialogue and the Station. I do love the size of Station 3 on the page!
We’ve made it to page 13! Almost half way through the first chapter. Hard at work on the next story and I’ll be starting the pencils soon! Just a quick sneak peak at a new character coming into the fold. Just a quick sketch – Meet Drogo Blekk Diver for Hire! He’s in league with a nefarious new character that I’ll keep under wraps for now. Thank you everyone for checking out my little aquatic adventure!
